Is the sharper image ionic breeze with ionic guard still dangerous?
Nov 30, 2007 by Little Foot | Posted in Other - Health
Awhile back, there was a big hype about the ionic breeze producing ozone which is very tricky to our health. But now they come with these new "ozone guards." I was reflective of buying one for my mom, but of course I wouldn't destitution her to submit her to ozone. Does anyone have actual evidence that these things are safe? Or should I just go with a noisey hepa seep?
No, even with the catalyst (ozone guard), it still emits a expressive amount of ozone.

Is the ionic breeze good at eliminating odors?
Feb 21, 2006 by rocky | Posted in Cleaning & Laundry
I decipher on consumer reports that the ionic breeze is worthless when it comes to purifying the air. But I don’t attend to if the air is clean; I just don’t want it to stink. I have two sugar gliders, and they have aroma glands that kind of stink. I’m curious if anyone with an ionic breeze, or something comparable, is fortuitous with its ability to eliminate odors in the home. Also if anyone can recommends something wagerer. Absolutely, baking soda works better. Condign put baking soda on your carpets, let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes and vacuum it up. You can do the same to upholstery. It works vast.

What can owners of the Sharper Image Ionic Breeze do now?
Apr 13, 2008 by Confused | Posted in Other - Electronics
Can they get their medium of exchange back or anything? Is there anything conclusive that would urge these owners to turn off their ionic breezes? Thanks.
Ostensibly independent testing found that these electrostatic "air purifiers" do not significantly decrease indoor air pollution, and they generate levels of ozone which may be unsafe to ozone-petulant individuals. (such as older or younger people, or people with unchanging respiratory conditions.)

How does an "Ionic Breeze" air purifier compare to an air purification device with a HEPA filter?
Jun 24, 2007 by Tyler C | Posted in Other - Home & Garden
Does an "Ionic Breeze Quadra" in reality purify and move the air around a room as well as a less-marketed, often less-expensive HEPA drip device?
depends on if you craving to buy replacement filters or not. I have a smaller version of the ionic breeze, about a foot high, and tho it doesnt move air like a fan does, it does move enough air to transform the dirt stick to its filter rods. its staggering how much it picks up. I live in a dusty state, so I have to evacuate a clean them once a week or so, but thats all dirt I am not breathing. It does dream up ozone, tho, which some say is not good for you, so I turn mine off at night when I am in the apartment. But it keeps the room smelling fresh while it is working. I have also tried several leach type cleaners, also, but I dont like haveing to buy the up-market hepa filters, and while they do filter the air pretty well, it gets to be a pang, because the store may discontinue them after a while, and I have to search for some other place to get them, etc. The ionic breeze never needs a sieve, tho, I just wipe it down with a couple of handi wipes once a week, and thats it. I bought mine at a penuriousness store for 5 bucks, tho... so Thats thoroughly a discount from the Sharper Image price.

Why does my Ionic Breeze spark? Is it dangerous?
Jul 19, 2008 by Susan K | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
We have an Ionic Breeze Quadra that's about four years old. The other day I was laying on the love-seat and I saw sparks come off of it? We clean the filter often and have no other problems. My husband thinks that it started doing that because the dog has knocked it over a yoke of times. Any thoughts?
Sparking from an Ionic Breeze may or may not be a complication. If it is an electrical connection spark, that would be a bad thing. If it is dust hitting the elements, that would presumably be just normal operation. The problem is the ozone that the thingamajig is designed to generate. You should check out some of the references on the web allied to these devices and think about whether or not you want to keep using it at all.
