Is the sharper image ionic breeze with ionic guard still dangerous?
Nov 30, 2007 by Little Foot | Posted in Other - Health
Awhile back, there was a big hype about the ionic breeze producing ozone which is very ticklish to our health. But now they come with these new "ozone guards." I was ratiocinative of buying one for my mom, but of course I wouldn't need her to submit her to ozone. Does anyone have factual attest that these things are safe? Or should I just go with a noisey hepa weed out?
No, even with the catalyst (ozone guard), it still emits a pithy amount of ozone.

does the ozone guard on the ionic breeze have any effect on the atmosphere?
Aug 27, 2006 by paxman | Posted in Allergies
I on that the Ozone Guard on any air ionizer is designed to eliminate low levels of tropospheric ozone, which can be noticeably toxic but is different than the ozone found in the ozone layer.
It has no effect on the ozone layer in the stratusphere.

ionic breeze ozone plate?
Apr 05, 2008 by Ltracer520 | Posted in Chemistry
I have the ionic breeze and every one knows that quirk causes bad ozone. So today i went to buy the ozone guard to add-on. All is it of the ozone guard is a metal picture.. Does anyone know what kind of metal or coating is it? cuz im thinking of doing an homemade one because that ozone guard is too small for my gigantic quadra.
The laminate has a platinum or rare earth coating which converts some of the ozone to oxygen. Some of the lasar printers have a deliberate 'filter' on them to prevent ozone from exiting the machines. As printers often end up on desks, this means that those filters have to be more efficient to keep exposures low,

anyone owns the new sharper image "Hybrid GP" air purifier? is it working well? does the "ozone guard" work?

Anyone owns the new sharper incarnation "Hybrid GP" air purifier? is it working well? does the "ozone guard" exertion? I've read and heard so many scary stories about the ozone is toxic. Does the sharper Simulacrum's ionic breeze purifier dangerous? any suggestions?
Alan: Wait away from all "air cleaners" that ooze even the smallest amounts of ozone. Ozone is not a part of clean air, it is a highly toxic gas. Proponents of ozone will order you it is all natural, well arsenic is also all natural but ya don't eat it on your Cheerios in the morning! If you are point of view about something that will clean the air, pick a machine that doesn't bring to the surface toxic gasses back into the air. Look for an allergy drip that is not made of plastic and does not use glues in the filter itself. Also, be convinced to pick a unit that is the right size for the amount of air you lust after to clean. Don't look at square footage that the fabricator claims the machine can clean, because you live in 3 dimensions not 2! Feature the volume of the room (length x width x high point) and then take that number and divide it by the amount of air the filter's motor can move in one trice (the manufacturer will state the air in CFM) and that will tell you how long to get one air swop. Shoot for at least 8 air exchanges per hour. I am sending you a identify with to an article that tells you in detail how to evaulate all different kinds of allergy filters made by all kinds of companies.
Don't get ripped off!
