Is the air from the Sharper Image Ionic breeze air purifier supposed to smell funny?
Apr 03, 2006 by dreamwithme247 | Posted in Other - Electronics
I very recently bought a used ionic breeze air purifier, but the air coming out of it doesn't foetor that great. Is that normal? What's the deal? Thanks!
Yes, I invent it's normal. I had one in the office for a while, and even after cleaning it and everything, it smelled a trifling strange. Maybe that's because our noses are so reach-me-down to the smell of dirty air.
It's similar to the susceptibilities when you drink distilled water.

How does an "Ionic Breeze" air purifier compare to an air purification device with a HEPA filter?
Jun 24, 2007 by Tyler C | Posted in Other - Home & Garden
Does an "Ionic Breeze Quadra" indeed purify and move the air around a room as well as a less-marketed, often less-expensive HEPA drip device?
depends on if you yearn for to buy replacement filters or not. I have a smaller version of the ionic breeze, about a foot boisterous, and tho it doesnt move air like a fan does, it does move enough air to filch the dirt stick to its filter rods. its surprising how much it picks up. I live in a dusty state, so I have to dust them once a week or so, but thats all dirt I am not breathing. It does devise ozone, tho, which some say is not good for you, so I turn mine off at night when I am in the space. But it keeps the room smelling fresh while it is working. I have also tried several leach type cleaners, also, but I dont like haveing to buy the extravagant hepa filters, and while they do filter the air pretty well, it gets to be a ass effort, because the store may discontinue them after a while, and I have to search for some other place to get them, etc. The ionic breeze never needs a percolate, tho, I just wipe it down with a couple of handi wipes once a week, and thats it. I bought mine at a scrimping store for 5 bucks, tho... so Thats entirely a discount from the Sharper Image price.

what is difference between ionic breeze air purifier and regular air purifier?
May 15, 2006 by wahster | Posted in Other - Electronics
Note: Please don't email me the value difference, I want to know the actual discrepancy b/w the two.
The sensation of ionic breeze is when high voltage charges the air around an element. This voltage excites the unimpeded electrons of molecules of air surrounding the element causing them to accelerate away from the climatic conditions b rudiments. This excitation and subsequent acceleration creates the "ionic breeze" which can be felt. Presumably then these electrons then seek out dirty air in the room.
A "popular" air cleaner may use a media filter with a blower to suck risqu air through the filter to clean the air. There are also Electrostatic Precipitators that command the particles as they pass through an ionizer and then collect them as they go to the gatherer section.
The biggest difference is that most air purifiers have a blower to move the air, this will consider more air in a room to be cleaned.

Does anyone have any experience with the Ionic Breeze Air Purifier..(any brand).?
Jul 15, 2006 by Dee | Posted in Other - Home & Garden
I'd be pleased as Punch to hear if they really purify the air being it smoke filled air (cigarettes) or otherwise. What brands can you counsel for good purification of inside air?
Last year a co working man and I did alot of reading in consumers guides and online. I ended up with a fan powered hepa winnow. The ionic air cleaners take out somewhat smaller particles, but in sealed stay tests they could not outdo the hepa filter period air cleaners at cleaning the whole volume of the room. -- You'll spot they advertise how much stuff you find on the vanes, but not what percentage of contamination they can take out from the air. The Ionic cleaners without fans aren't much use around dogs that throw, my coworker found. The links below are not the original ones I familiar when researching, but the info is similar.

Does anyone know if the Sharper Image's Ionic Breeze air purifier really works?
Jul 23, 2006 by Rich Marcia | Posted in Other - Health
I've seen many nullifying reviews and some positive. Don't know whether to take utility of the money back guarantee...
I've heard nothing but bad things about them. don't have live experience with the full sized ones, but I bought a car sized ionic breeze from the Sharper Impression store on ebay, it worked ok for 2 days then in a flash stopped and wouldn't work again. They wanted the opriginal packaging for the go back but I had tossed the box. Their customer service people were big pains in the a$$ and I had to groan several times before I could get a refund.
Their "money back warranty" means they guarantee to give you a hard ever if you try to return their faulty products.
