Bought humidifier...humidity almost always 55% and higher...what's going on?
We equitable bought an 8 gallon output Kenmore humidifer from Sears. The wink we turn the furnace on, the throat starts to hurt and we wake up idea awful in the morning. I thought the humidifer would fix the incorrigible, however the humidifier ALWAYS states that the humidity in the room/area is 55% or higher. I woke up this morning with my throat stroke of luck (I'm not sick), however it was at 63%. Since it is so high, the fetich NEVER comes on unless I force it to stay on. I've emptied the first every night b/c I didn't want mold to start forming. Does it blooming like the unit is measuring the humidity misguided? We live in Nashville and can't imagine the 63% humidity in the lodgings when the furnace is on. The sensor is 4" from the unit, on the pwr twine. Should I buy another thing (whatever they are called) to check the humidity au fait with, or should I just return it for another unit/model? I scorn to buy things I don't really need so if it sounds simply wrong, I will just return the unit. Gratefulness
Thanks for the replies...and to confirm. It states 55% and higher before I even have the entity on. I realize I'm defeating the purpose if I take the splash out, but since it never kicks on, I don't want the water to mold. I guess I'll punt it on tonight and see how it goes. If the mirrors are covered, I be acquainted with I have a problem. I'm going to see if I can find a hygrometer somewhere penny-pinching...maybe Radioshack?
Thanks again...I'm doubting the reading is done as well. I just got home and filled it back up and turned it to "always on" to see if it feels gamester in here later on...
you may not have fine fantastic air circulation in the room or just near the constituent if it's up close to the wall, try moving it and placement a small fan up to blow the air around the room more away from the sensor.
