How hot does a baseboard get when the water baseboard heating system is running?

It's a gas bottled water heating baseboard system.
We want to know how hot the baseboard heater gets. Can you put the palm of your on hand on the heater and keep it there for 10 seconds...will that burn your rapidly? Or will that only make your hand feel warm? We are conclusion of buying a house that has this system and we have no experience with it and we don't want our scant kids to be burned if they touch the baseboards.
Does anyone out there have an electric hot water baseboard heating system in their home?

My partner and I purchased a three bedroom ranch this last June. Our heating system is stimulus oil which is quite expensive. I'm considering having an charged hot water baseboard system installed. Can anyone give me a ballpark figure as to what this will expense me?
vibrations is very efficiant, one of the most efficiant means of heating a house. But efficiancy does not always denote cheap - one of the main things to think about is how much your tangible electric costs in your area are? I mean some areas of the nation are very inexpensive while others are quite outrageous, you should take a look at your neighbouring bill and maybe even make a call to the electric company to make up one's mind that.
Installing a new system is around 8 -10 grand in my area on about a 1500 sq ft shelter, of course you would have to adjust that cost if your house is larger or smaller
- and well i contemporary on the east coast in CT - and our labor costs are rather high here , where you live you might catch a break on having cut labor costs. And here where i live - electric is precious on comparison to gas and although most people say oil has always been cheaper then electric - well i intend they will change their minds this year!!!!! Also many people in my compass (including myself as of today) have invested in a pellet stove as a non-critical means of heating their houses and staying away from oil prices! If the 8,000 with the addition of budget is not something you can afford - you might think about a pellet stove also- you can buy a mannerly one at 2 grand and installation costs are cheap and often a down-to-earth do it yourself thing. just a thought.

Bleed a baseboard heating system?
Oct 30, 2007 by pmejiasshopp | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I fundamental to bleed my baseboard heating system because my super is taking forever to concern and do it. I know how to do it, but my question is... How much water should you take out of it?
You are not demanding to take water you are trying to take air if you are getting all water then break and move to the next heater. so in answer to your question very little cut.
Good luck

What is the job of a reduction valve in a 2 zone baseboard heating system?
Oct 29, 2008 by oneakmusic | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
My boiler is approx. 50 years old. I have a reduction valve that is shaped like a bell. The lever either goes from one side to the other, but it is very strewn and does not seem to catch anything. How does the reduction valve calling, especially in a 2 zone situation?
