Do most electric space heaters put out the same amount of heat?
Nov 08, 2007 by Shay | Posted in Other - Home & Garden
I was recently shopping for electric space heaters at Walmart. I attention they range in price from $14-$60. All of the heaters were 1500 watts no condition what the brand or size of the heater. Since they are all 1500 watts are they putting out the same amount of animate? Can I get the same heat out of a $14 heater as I could get from say a $40 one?
None of the space heaters listed the BTU create on the box.
Basically yes. The metamorphosis is in the bells and whistles on the heater. For example, I have one that is thermostatically controlled which means it will only approach on when the room temperature drops below a certain floor and then it is only putting out 1500 watts. I have another one that provides a safe keeping feature that if the heater is accidently tipped over, it will mode itself off and not continue to run. I have still another which rotates the heat without rotating the without a scratch heater. They all still provide the same wattage, but they have different features or BTU efficiency that increased or decreased the price point.

Is electric space heaters more cost effecient versus heat pumps powered by furnace in a smaller space?
Feb 15, 2007 by justn4me | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I white-hot in a small 900 sq. ft. home. My heat up b excite quit working and now I am using small space heaters which seem to passion my home better than the heat pump. I am using a amount to of 3 1500 watt electric space heaters that cut on and off according to degree of temperature in my home base. I don't want to make my electric bill sky rocket, so I am exasperating to decide whether to go ahead and get my heat pump serviced or to pause and keep using the small heaters. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!
No, space heaters are exceptionally unefficient.

What is the difference in electric space heaters?
Jan 16, 2007 by gsc88 | Posted in Other - Home & Garden
At stores such as Wal-mart or Lowe's and the like you will find all singular kinds of electric space heaters they all are 1500w at the max, some are more expensive than others, some are bigger but all are 1500w. Does one put out more exhilaration than others?
No. Although some may allot that heat better than others, IE. a better fan design or more grill opening etc. 1500 Watt is the highest overwhelm an average electrical circuit in a home can underwrite. High wattage's require link to a higher load circuit. Since the stores necessity to sell sell sell those things, they don't lack you to have to call an electrician to hook it up. If 1500 W won't do it, call your adjoining HVAC company to fix your furnace.

Do Oil raidiators more energy efficient than electric space heaters?
Oct 24, 2008 by catscratch02 | Posted in Other - Home & Garden
insufficiency to know of a good brand and model of one to buy either from a Meijer, Lowes, Impress upon Depot, Walmart, CVS store, Best Buy, Aim as those are the only stores closest to me.
If you find a electric space heater to be better than please urge a good one and where to buy this from
I have no furnace and cant afford a new one at this time so I lust after to get either 2 space heaters or a good oil radiator. Need suggestions
All electric space heaters are 100% efficacious, in that they convert 100% of the electrical energy into fervidness energy.
The choice between different electric heater types therefore depends on how you miss to use that heat.
A radiative heater creates infrared emission (perfectly safe) which travels through the air until it strikes an refuse. At that point the infrared radiation is converted to awaken. So radiative (or radiant) heaters are good for focused heating. For event you could aim one at your couch, sit on the couch, and feel perfectly furious and comfortable even if the room you're in is chilly (and the doors to the shell are wide open). Radiative heaters are a good choice if your rooms are drafty, you see to to be in one place for long periods, and you want to hot up only areas where people are. On the other hand, if there are lots of people in your household or you move around a lot, a radiative heater won't do you much good (except that all the times you have to move the heater around to significance at the moving person will be exercise for you which will warm you up!).
Convection heaters are haler for heating an entire room rather than just the argue against they are aimed at. A convection heater heats the air as soon as around it, and then natural convection takes care of distributing the enthusiasm around the room. Your oil radiator is an example of a convection heater. Some convection heaters give up with fans, to get the heat around the room faster, and these fans also lend a hand distribute the heat more evenly. This is especially usable if you are heating a large room or if you have poor insulation or drafts. If you don't use a fan in a compartment with poor insulation or drafts, much of the heat may shoot through the wall closest to where the heater is located before it has a certainty to circulate through the room.
Oil radiators are a form of blunt-term storage heater. They provide a more well-ordered level of heat because, although the heating element may go on and off several times an hour, the oil buffers the extremes of temperature of the heating domain a adverse, so that you get a more steady temperature coming from the heater.
There are also wish-term storage heaters, which are useful if you pay different rates for your tension depending on the time of day. These heaters usually have a ceramic storage mode which converts electricity into stored heat when excitement is cheap, and then releases the heat when you want to quicken the room and electricity is more expensive. These storage heaters are surprisingly inexpensively and there are portable models; you may want to consider one of these.

What's the difference in regular electric space heaters and the Eden pure space heater?
Jul 26, 2008 by Shep | Posted in Other - Home & Garden
Been checking prices online for space heaters and have found some models that run anywhere from $100.00 to $160.00 but when I found this Eden worthy brand they run up to $380.00 to basically heat the same right-angled footage. Do they heat differently than other makes or are they valid more expensive because of their looks?
they use an infrared quartz heating factor. They don't suck alot of moisture out of the air, and have a washable weed out. (if ou have animals that shed, you should probably flush it every 2 weeks or so) They keep the floor to ceiling temps catchy even, at least the manual says so. In bigger rooms, it's not as factual. The cabinet that they are in doesn't get hot, except in the front where the the heat as a matter of fact comes out from, so you can use them for convenient side tables. :) They are said to use only as much electrcity as a coffee maker. They will last from 3-5 years. I didn't uncommonly notice a drop in my electric bill when I switched to that one from a regular space heater. Total, I'm not terribly impressed, and I don't need to buy another one.
