what is cheaper to run? an electric garage heater or a natural gas garage heater?

I have a 3 car garage that I am planning to keep impassioned this winter. which will be cheaper in the long run as far as energy costs. I have already insulated the garage and the doors.
Wow, I'm not bothersome to be argumentative, but at least in my area Electric heat is much cheaper than gas. In in point of fact I'm getting ready to replace my 80,000 lp furnace with 18 KW of electric.
I'm not reliable what your per KW rate is in your area, but you definitely want to tune out both types and do a calculation before you decide. Call your utility companies and ask them the rates per considered unit of energy that they charge.
As I said, here in Indiana, tension beats gas hands down.

Is it safe to use a 110volt to 220 volt stepup converter in a garage to power an electric heater??

I do not have a 220 volt specialty in my garage and I was wondering if it is safe to use a step converter in village of a wired 220 volt electric line??
As elongated as the wire feeding the garage is protected by the proper sized circumference breaker, it is perfectly safe to do what you want to do. That was your indubitably.
Aside from that, it won't work. The circuit breaker will throw off from being overloaded. The 120 volt line will have to finance a little over double the amps that the 240 volt heater will take.
Get an electrician to place a 240 volt circuit to the garage.

i bought a 5000 watt garage heater and you have to wire it to a 220 the child at the store told me you have to wire it right into the box, my into question is why cant you put a cord on it and just plug it into a 220 store
Use 10 size wire and you can.
