Why do I have cold water in the shower when my heat pump is on?
Nov 27, 2006 by Cheryl G | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I am in a rental condo in Atlanta with a heat pump (new technology for me). Every year in the go along with I struggle with sharing hot water with my shower and the heat pump. The landlord said the heat pump is configured forevermore to share hot water as a cost savings. Is this really the specimen or do you think something is wrong with the system? How can I diagnose problems with the hot water/heat pump system? Compressed of always turning the thermostat off prior to my shower, what can I do?
I have the same difficult. If i take a shower at about the same time others in the building have..then good chances on a nice hot shower. The hot water heater takes ever to heat enough back up..so yea it's normal. But I always think they should have a big enough hot water heater in the structure for the amount of apartments in it. Sometimes I wonder but I don't know the gauge of the thing.

water source heat pump water noise?

We have a water origin heat pump AC system in our condo, and the water running through the water loop has recently become very clamorous. Its a water rushing sound that didnt hand-me-down to be there. If we close the input and ouput valves on the loop the turmoil stops, but does that kill the AC for everyone in the building? will it hurt my pump or someone elses?
Verdugo: On water roots heat pumps you need to maintenance the water loop. Content that you have to turn off the ac unit first. Once it stops running. you can end the water supply valve, then the water return valve. Then get a contrivance to take off the hose that's connected to the ac unit from the turn valve. Then put a bucket underneath, and by opening the fund valve just enough to rinse out all that dirt incarcerated the water loop coil. Once is clean put it back together and you are all set.

Can you switch a hydro heat system to a regular gas water heater & pump?
Jun 13, 2007 by Mrmll37 | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
My water heater tank cracked and needs replaced. A new hydro part is approx 1800.00. Can the system be converted to a regular gas water heater and a take heat pump? What cost could I expect?
If the air handler is in obedient shape, you can replace the heat exchanger with an indoor wind and put a condensing unit outside. Call a few heating/cooling specialists in your neighbourhood and request a quote.
Look into a tankless water heater for your home water.
If you can live without A/C, go with a gas furnace, much more economical to run than a heat pump.

How effective is a water to air heat pump setup for cooling?
Jun 12, 2008 by Eco_Dave_011 | Posted in Green Living
I system to bury heat pump coils and use a small / medium motorcycle radiator and fan to unexcitable a room in my house. This is simply a proof of concept and a fun overhang for me just wondering how big the radiator should be, pump flow and fan cfm.
I irresolution this is going to be very efficient. Normally heat pumps use a refrigerant that undergoes a configuration change to greatly increase efficiency/heat transfer. The destine is a little beyond the scope of this forum. Generally, with the fan and pump, faster is wagerer, BUT there is a point of diminishing returns that depends on numerous other factors.

A heat pump water heater? Do you churlish what is a good brand for a heat pump, and what is a good brand for a water heater?
I postulate it depends who you ask. Each dealer will claim that the brands they effect are superior over their competetors.
Popular brands for heat pumps are (in no single order): Lennox, Carrier, York, Trane
Amateur brands for water heaters are (in no particular order): Rheem/Rudd or A.O. Smith
