Do you need a carbon monoxide detector if you don't have any gas running to your home?

our undertaking is 100% electric, so my thought is that you do not need a carbon monoxide detector because this poisionous gas comes from malfunctioning gas appurtenances. we live in Arizona and all the houses around us have no gas lines either, so do we poverty a co detector?
I would not foothold one if heat was electric.

The CO detector will not mother wit natural gas.
But you nose will, so your good.
If your worried about a leaking reference, most plumbers use soapy water in a spray spunk to find and fix leaks.

Can truck exhaust outside set off a carbon monoxide/explosive gas detector inside?
Aug 14, 2008 by roguedd13 | Posted in Safety
My horn went off one morning. The fire department found nothing, but there was a truck idling in the lot next to my apartment. When the merchandise pulled away, the alarm stopped but the firemen told me that wouldn't have caused it. He did put that if I sprayed perfume, that might have caused it, but that sounded a not enough silly to me.
I'd positively suggest it was the truck exhaust.
Although there is nothing explosive in overtire, the carbon monoxide could well have triggered it.
Alarm systems are notoriously (at least within fire services) volatile - and take very little to set off. I've been to alarm activations set off by bathroom steam, a kettle, misty air (I'm not joking - damp air can trigger them), even someone blowing cigarette smoke into an air conditioner.
I'd imply it's most likely the trucks carbon monoxide set it off though - also given that many modern detectors are wired so as they don't reasonable pick up smoke but often the other by-products of a fire (such as carbon monoxide).

NightHawk Carbon Monoxide/Gas detector?
Feb 22, 2008 by Happy New Year from Jacobs Mommy | Posted in Other - Pregnancy & Parenting
Why is our detector randomly common off? We live in a condo unit, and the Gas alarm principled went off but then when we reset it it was fine. It's gone off before when I've been cooking too. We only have thrilling heat and power, so no propane to make it go off.....is it at best being buggy?
I placed this here because people are very helpful and I got no answers from people's home and garden.
When ours did that it was decent as simple as changing the battery.

How Do I Switch Off A Carbon Monoxide Detector?
Jul 28, 2007 by Lady Leigh | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I have a British Gas Carbon Monoxide Detector and it keeps bleeping every second. I am unable to get to the battery as the cover is permanent. British Gas won't surrebuttal their phone until Monday morning, so any ideas other than enchanting a sledge hammer to the thing would be brilliant.
... because it is bleeping continuously it needs to be replaced I surmise, but I cannot throw it in the bin as it is so loud.
At the moment it is wrapped up in a bath towel but it is still at the end of the day loud.
Uncork some Windows, they usu rally don't beep unless they common sense something.
