How much will it cost to replace an old TRANE furnace?
Jan 01, 2007 by Christina G | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I am planning to put in place of our old TRANE furnace. I have 1700 sq ft house. I recently received an think of $2600 - $2800 installation included but it could be more if they will find more problems. And if they find more problems, the amount would be way above our budget. Scarcely want to find out if the estimate that I got is reasonable?
Skip town them give you a written estimate with a set price. If they've been to your where it hurts and seen the curent set-up, they know exactly what it's prevalent to cost! Get a written estimate with a set price, and succeed a do over them stick to it. Or else find another company because it sounds like this one is preparing to fast it to you...

One HVAC callers is recommending Trane XV 90 but Coleman 2 ton B2CS 10 Clairvoyant-last year's model. They say it's because I am vexed about humidity in summer. Is this a good reco- not succeeding with 13 Seer? And is Coleman a good manufacturer- don't see many around here (Toronto Ontario). Another corporation is reco Trane furnace and Trane a/c-XR 13. Diff take on same problem. Opinions?
I went with Trane. Is the XV90 a builders measure up. Make sure you know before you buy. No Offence to the Lennox Guy but I have had nothing but problems with my Lennox furnace. My sister has one and is replacing it as well.

the furnace ignites ,but the blower does not labour
you have a difficulty with your thermostat if you can put it on fan only and it runs.if it dos`nt run at all it`s probably the fan motor.

Trane furnace maintenance question?
Jan 01, 2008 by irekforpresident | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
Ok, we have not been in our crib long. We have a Trane XV80. It has the air cleaner on it which consists of a prefilter, and then an ionizer of some nature... I guess this is what it is called. What is the proper cleaning procedures for these two parts? I regard that the owner of the house before us told me that the prefilters were reusable? Blame you ahead of time for your help!
I've put a coupling below to the owners manual. You'll find that helpful. It looks as though you can tub-bath or vacuum the pre-filter. It also has directions for cleaning the "cells." As far as I can proclaim, every part of the system can be easily cleaned.
I've got a ionizing smoke eater in our den. We objective hose down the prefilter, and wash the "apartment" in warm water.
In searching the Trane website, I came upon facts regarding a recall on some of Trane's air cleaners. You may demand to contact your local Trane dealer and see if they need to send someone out. (If they do send someone out, while they are there, be guaranteed to ask them a million questions on how to care for your air cleaner.)

Filter Type/Dimensions for Trane XE 80 Furnace?
Jul 13, 2008 by dontcare4myname | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I boought this accommodate which has Trane XE 80 Furnace. I have no manuals with me and finding it hard to find online, what replacement exclude to buy [the dimensions] for this furnace. Any help would be appreciated. If you can forward the vade-mecum, that would be too great. Thanks in advance.
Most qualified it is in the return duct or blower cabinet.
Most successfully bet is to have the unit serviced and ask the tech while he is there.
