Quality experience with Goodman furnace and central air?
Sep 26, 2007 by jsa1962jsa | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
I am replacing my gas stilted air furnace and adding central air. The furnace will be a 115,000btu, 95% effectual and the air will be 4 ton 13 SEER. My choice is between lower priced Goodman units or Trane or Lennox units at a considerably higher charge. They all have the same warranty and efficiency ratings. Has anyone had experience that suggests that I should not go with the reduce price product? I am doing the installation myself and Goodman offers videos and other DIY complex support that the other brands do not offer.
I've had five quotes from contractors and they all harmonious much agree on the sizing. Goodman seems to be the only brand I can buy just the paraphernalia, all the others are sold only through contractors who want to get a large chunk of the labor. I do have a well-proportioned shot of knowing what I'm doing- I'm a recently retired robot-like engineer. I just don
t know the products.
I am an HVAC Contractor and I only use Goodman. You are not comparing apples to apples. Mark Goodman 13 and 14 SEER. 10 years parts and labor including the compressor. Also Goodman will assign you to extend the warranty by 5 years. If you have to repair the apparatus Goodman will be the easiest to get the parts for and cost the least. Dont buy a name it is not quality it. Make sure you get the copeland scroll compressor, on 14 Crystal-gazer and up.

No estimate, no signed contract; ten days later and overcharged for a Goodman furnace - must we still pay?
May 21, 2007 by smpmsu1980 | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
My stillness was shootin the breeze with a commercial contractor who did firm at my husband's place of employment. the commercial contractor said "oh I can put in a furnace for you-I'll have a link of guys over on their spare time and they'll put it in. we can do C/A for you too" Well, my hide agreed. We have a 1600 sq foot home. It took them ten days later to put in a unlucky quality furnace (Goodman) and Lochnivar water heater. then billed us $5,200. The furnace is at the east end of the ranch council and there was very little duct work to do. there was a new chimney liner put in. Are we fastened to pay this ridiculous fee. I asked for a detailed bill and it shows an X at the bottom of the fitted sheet where there is NO customer signature--that part is blank.
who was the tease that let them in to do the work?
if you thought goodman was a poor product why did you consideration it to be installed?
goodman hasn`t doubled there profits in the last 4 years by making a bad by-product and increases their market share every year for nothing, currently goodman is #2 in hvac and quick comming up on carrier.

NEW GOODMAN FURNACE, Reverse MY THERMOSTAT UP FURNACE CYCLES ALL THE WAY THE IGNITERS LIGHT UP THEN Cage in RIGHT OFF GAS VALVE NEVER OPEN, DOES ANYONE Identify WHAT MIGHT CAUSE THIS PROBLEM,OR IS THE FURNACE JUNK?
Add the furnace to continue its attempts to light. At some point (3-5 tries) the furnace will a halt operating and go into lockout mode. You can then look through the scrap viewport in the bottom section of the furnace. You will see a red light. If it's flashing on and off this indicates a mind-boggler. If the light is steady everything is normal. Call the company that sold you the furnace to get an info monthly that will tell you what the problem may indicate for the various numbers of flashes. Or, the LED bolt code may be located on a label somewhere on the furnace doors or Deo volente inside the furnace compartments. It might also be in the paperwork that came with the furnace. Virtuous luck.

Anyone else have Janitrol/Goodman furnace complaints?
Apr 22, 2008 by Gargala K | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
My ardour exchanger on a 10 year old Janitrol went bad. Undeviating the company warranty exchanged the part, but it still cost me over $400 in labor... YIKES ! ! ! Learn from my Get wrong, NEVER... and I mean NEVER buy a Janitrol
I have said before on this forum that Janitrol has been structure furnaces for over a hundred years. I have one installed in 1995 with categorically no problems. Have installed several others in rentals. No problems.
All zealousness exchangers are subject to potential problems, no essentials what brand. I have seen them go bad (not Janitrol but other big name brands) in four years, and have seen some outlive the entire furnace over a twenty year period.
So, my experience is gifted with Janitrol, although it appears it is the cost of the work that bothers you, and the in point of fact that the unit happened to go bad before you thought it should.
An awful lot depends on how your feeling is and how much and how long your unit is running.
