Does an electric furnace cost the same amount to buy and install as a gas furnace?
Feb 29, 2008 by Dilbert | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
What are customary prices for a furnace for a 3 bedroom house, for gas or electric? Do they come with the A/C evaporator circles in them, so we can hook up our central A/C system to the furnace unit? Or would we have to install the A/C whorl separately?
you can buy a air handler however you paucity to buy it. with the evaporator attached or seperate. typically its a matched system if its new. id say around 2000 bucks for upright A coil with electric heat, do the whole thing A coil electric agitation and new condensing unit outside around 3000, rod to the new R410 freon it will be a little more since they have to run new larger profile sets. if you want AC with Heatpump and electric auxillary 3-5,000

Does an electric furnace emit any harmful fumes?
Dec 09, 2008 by tjpitts10 | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I miss to know if electric furnaces emit fumes like carbon monoxide in gas furnaces. I started smelling something when our furnace came on tonight and privation to know if it could be anything harmful.
This isn't the first time we've habituated to the furnace this year. It doesn't smell like a first beforehand of the year smell, it smells more like a "fumes" aroma.
What size electric furnace do I need for a 1344 Sq Ft garage?
Oct 30, 2007 by Kristi H | Posted in Other - Home & Garden
We have a 32' X 42' garage with 12' ceilings (no middle walls). We want to get an electric furnace to keep the garage at a changeless temperature. What size furnace would be sufficient? We do have a wood burner to use, but we won't be in the garage constantly to keep a fire customary. We don't want the cement floor to rupture due to freezing. We live in Ohio.
a 15 kw heater would do the job
(10 watts/ sq ft.......1344 sq ft.....13440watts.....13.44KW....15 KW is the closest)
if y'all have a fan phoney furnace you can have a 15 kw duct heater added and use a 2 status stat with the duct heater as stage 2.
if not, you might rate electric base boards ....6 8' 2500w heaters would do it.
if you have a doxy in the business, ask for an old air handler for a heat pump.....they will have the inspirit strips and a blower.
hope this helps,

How can I get an answer about my electric furnace power usage?
Dec 17, 2008 by farriscj | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
How can I get something off one's chest how many amps my electric furnace uses? An attached sheet crib-sheet shows Dual supplies with circuits A and B and also shows a Choose circuit. It is 53,500 BTUH. Circuit A has 44.7 amps and B 20.8. Fix supply 65.5 amps. I do not understand individual and dual supply. Will you please explain?
activate pump air handlers can have different "electric quicken packages" installed depending on the expected needs of the domestic its going into....if you have 2 large 240 volt wires entering the component then you have 2 circuits [ one wire probably #6 copper and the other #10 copper]... if you only have one fat wire,,probably #6 copper, than you only have one perimeter............the larger circuit supplies power to 2 auxillary heaters [about 20amps each,or about 10kw mount up to ] as well as the blower and the transformer..the smaller circuit commonly only supplies a 3rd auxillary heater that draws about 20 amps or 5 kw...therefore,if your fervidness package contains 3 heaters, you probably have 15kw of auxillary warm up...1 watt=3.4 btu's.....so 15 kw supplies about 53,500 btu....you as likely as not have 2 breakers in the main panel for the air handler [electric furnace]..one will be 60amp,,the other 30amp..its also on that one circuit is feeding a 15kw package,,if so,its probably a 90 amp breaker with #2 copper....if its a passion pump system the electric heaters come on to assist the ardour pump in the normal heat mode....if in a beeline electric heat,,then the heaters are your only source of heat,,very overpriced to have straight electric heat....if a heat send system,,only the electric heaters will run if you set tstat switch to emergency impetuosity,,sometimes abbreviated "em heat" or "supp warm up excite"........dan

we charged in a mobile home and need to install duct vocation to a new electric furnace that we just had installed. can we run one piece of flexible duct trade the entire length of the trailer and just cut the duct industry and put an adaptor to run up into each room or do we have to put a metal box under the furnace and run 5 seperate pieces of amenable duct (one to each room)? we have no idea how to do this but we have run out of money and cant pay the guy who was suppposed to do it so we advance learn quick. how big should the flexible duct be? what do i gibbet it with? etc? any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you!
five 6" boxes of give would run about the same price as a bunch of 12" cable go to home depot get a knock down plenum some 6" cord and starting collars and duct tape also get hanging strap run strap around extension and nail to floor joist
