Do you have any experience with an Amana Furnace?

I good set up an appointment to replace my 35 yo LuxAire with a new amana! Can't lacuna to get rid of that old faithful.

Amana is raise and more efficient, better design and energy operative, you will be pleased! good warrenty also!

I have 20 yr old Coleman central aircon, attached to 8 yr old Amana furnace?

Patently the "drip pan" has pin holes, so A-one is leaking to the basement floor. The heating group said that the air cond is too old for them to order a new one(drip pan, as the old one is metal and new ones are phony), and that they can replace the condensor, or I can get a new Air conditioner. My question is: Does this undamaged logical for one, and how much should I stick into an old air conditioner, that has always run fine. And was the furnace, which is Amana compatible with this Coleman air conditioner.

If they are talking about replacing the condensor, you should be looking to change the whole AC unit. If you can't afford it, start frugal now and maybe try cobbling together a means of directing the douse into a floor drain for the next couple months (assuming you are only using it seasonally and don't tangible with it running year round).

If you know how much longer the furnace is expected to last (and assuming you plan on still living there by then), I would buy a cheaper (or dialect mayhap even used) AC unit that will get you to the time when you can invest in replacing everything at once. Instantly now I don't think it's worth it to substitute a relatively new furnace (as it is likely going to last for 25 years if you got it 8 years ago).

Regardless, don't put any more coins into repairing the existing AC....that's stupid.

Why are the burners in my Amana furnace not turning back on when the temp goes below the thermostat setting?

The gas burners in proper order a out of sequence themselves off when the house reaches the set temperature, as they should, however, the fan stays on, but the burners do not throw out back on when temperature falls below the thermostat setting. I can only get the burners to go back on if I put off off the power to the furnace and switch it back on. The igniter seems to be fine.

sounds like the supervision board. when your shutting off the power your basically resetting the on, if it was a fan limit the fan would not come on at all, unless your furnace is very old you wont have a thermocouple and you did royal that your ignitor was fine. depending on the model of furnace you have the panel will cost between 100 to 250 dollars.
i have a transmitter and the board for it was listed at 269.00

I have an Amana Furnace installed in 1995. It sometimes won't ignite if we don't turn it off and on.?

The Inducer Motor was replaced this week and then we started noticing a chill house. It sounds like the blower is blowing weak air but to get the igniter to work we have to turn the furnace off and on. Now they replaced the gas valve and igniter and it is still not working. Sometimes it works but not always, like it is not getting the communication to turn the igniter on.

Replacement of gas valve requires frame of proper pressure with the screw inside the valve. That is done with manometer gambit attached to manifold tap. Set too high, this can cause a furnace's fusable in to trip and that is resettable by switching furnace on/ off. This device trips when eagerness flash is exceeds the limit and is a safety best.

A tech doesnt simply put a new gas valve in. It has to be set for altitude and for the furnaces diverse pressure requirements according to specifications. Your tech indubitably did no such thing.

Lower the gas pressure slightly, its in the gas valve itself, nerve cap, remove the brass cap, then take a screwdriver and give it 2 turns counterclockwise. Substitute brass cap. See if that does the trick. You can do it yourself if you have some polytechnic knowledge.

How do I find the model number on an Amana Furnace?

Typically it is in the cabinetry of the furnace on the socialistic or right wall where the burner compartment is.

Noise of your new furnace does matter; Amana vs. American Standard

From HVAC-TALK.COM:

“I be sure you’re all dying to know how things are going with my Amana furnace . So….

Last Thursday I was offered a replacement American Yardstick Freedom 80 2 stage installed for $800 (don’t taking that this is on top of the full price I already paid for the Amana installed (somewhere between $2500 and $3000 cdn) ). Although I felt this was still an unfair amount of rhino for me to put out in this situation I agreed so I could finally be rid of the Amana and move on from this ugly scene.

The American Sample got put in this morning and the Amana was taken away.

OH MY GOD WHAT A DIFFERENCE!

I don’t grovel any more every time the furnace fires up. In fact I didn’t even review when the furnace fired at all this evening.

When I was in the basement suite talking with my chain and aunt about 12ft away from the utilities closet they commented that this furnace is so much mastery. I asked ‘Is it on right now???’. They said ‘yes it is’. I had to run to the utility closet to verify it was on. The sound of our conversation was able to mask the sound of the furnace. Think of that.

Before I could tell from the floor above whenever the furnace was firing. In the mornings from my bed two floors up I could listen to the Amana unit going…this floor is an addition to the aboriginal house and has no registers to carry any sound.

So I leave you all now in harmony.

Cheers.

George.”
