Looking for a reference on central heating units. Is Ducane a quality brand? What is better?

Ducane is what we call a "Builders image". A second rate semi-dependable trade name that contractors get a good price on because they purchase in jumbo quantities. Never pay top dollar for second rate builders models. You can get bettor quality from name brand equipment for the same price.

Central Heating?
Dec 29, 2007 by Mike H | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I have 2 Trane central ac/heating units on my haunt. One of the outside concrete slabs that the units sit on, is always wet, the other completely dry? Both units are currently working, but why is the one chunk always wet? Thanks, Mike
That is doubtlessly where the drain is..... You don't want heavy water standing in your unit rusting the bottom out. Take a look.....

Buying new Goodman central heating and air-conditioning units?
Aug 27, 2007 by Turbo Eng | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I have a 2700 right-foot house in Southern California, and I am replacing the builder supplied AC and furnace units. The top brands Lennox and Trane are beyond my budget, so the contractor is recommending Goodman, which is one of the largest manufacturers of this apparatus. Consumer Digest rates them a best buy for the "budget minded" consumer. Could someone grovel before on this subject comment on the quality of Goodman.
Hi,
I nothing but installed a 3.5 ton AC and heat.....Been using the air and works basic....could see the savings right away... The furnace will be next.... how the ac worked I have no worries.. So far Goodman has been marvy! Get the Goodman warranty with it to... Very cheap and covers everything. Real luck I hope this helped! Mike

Why would our central heating unit work and then just quit?
Nov 15, 2007 by beccahippie | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
The guide is lit, but the heater won't "kick on."
baulk the switch setting, is it on heat ? try reseting the breaker to the furnace, look at the gas handle setting is it to on? try setting at a higher temp, on thermostate.

My central heating unit is leaking water from a pipe coming from the ceiling.?
Dec 02, 2008 by King | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
Where could it be clogged to have this uncontrollable and how would i get to it? Or what exactly is the problem or any idea on what to check? It is a produce of Rheem, It hasn't been raining so im not sure why bottled water is leaking. But please help no heat!
Where positively is this pipe? Inside the house, or outside ? is it PVC(wan plastic)?if it is outside it is just a condensate draw off. Your heater doesn't use water, but it will create it in the appear of condensation. if you look at your heater, there should be a drain specialty(usually the white pipe)coming out of or nearly the bottom of the unit. I can't think of where there would be a pipe in your ceiling that you would be talented to see. as for the no heat problem, have you switched the unit from A/C to impassion? The unit will make a lot of condensate On A/C but very little or none in zeal mode.
good luck.
