Is it possible to pressure flush out my central heating system?
My system seems to be blocked somewhere as upstairs radiators are coryza while downstairs are tepid. I've tried all the liquid cleansers non seem to trade.
I have bled all the radiators, I've even taken them all off the go under and drained and flushed a lot of thick sludge from each one and drained the system. Yet upstairs rads are chilling and downstairs tepid. I've a combination boiler with a 1 year old puff out on full speed.
My wife is giving my ears a stony time can anyone help on this, thanks for answers so far.
Is it a sealed or provide system. With a sealed system you can do it but need a professional. If it's an clear system, I would drain it completely and flush it by just letting the mains top-grade from the top-up tank do the job (open all rad valves to max). Let the water flood through for a hour or so, and then let it fill, set the pump to maximum speed and let it run for 15mins or so, and conduit again. Repeat until clear(ish) water is seen to seep. Makes sure all your joints are sound as any bad juncture may not stand the pressure. Refill and reset your inspire to normal speed. Bleed all the radiators starting from the lowest height.
