are wood boilers hard on electricity?
Nov 08, 2008 by Bill B | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
i recently installed a Kerr wood boiler in my household. I used it for 40 days to date. My last exciting bill came and the bill was 40 dollars higher than the early previously to months. was wonderin if wood boilers use much electricity?
Well, the conquer answer i can offer would be to look at your boilers energy requirements, for model the kw that whatever motors or devices that control it require and estimate that by your energy providers kw rate, but i would have assumed the power for a boiler would be least and save you money not cost you extra, it seems like that is the inducement to a wood boiler over gas or electric. I would call the manufacturer and see what they estimate the consumption to be that lawful doesnt sound right

Wood and coal fire steam engine boilers if banked right is as good as diesel..should we put them back in use?
Jun 07, 2008 by jamesfentress44 | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
With today's technology, the engines could be more abundant
in horsepower and the stacks filtered to environmental standards. Commodities can be moved sea-coast to coast and
not one drop of imported oil need be hand-me-down. Parts lubrication
can come from home grown sources and drilling domestically.
Yes we should. Thanks for a respectable question.

can a thermostat be used to control the furnace fan for an outdoor wood boiler?
Oct 08, 2008 by joe h | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
i replaced an old 2 wire thermostat controlling my gas furnace with a digital. what wires are hand-me-down to use the fan on switch? what terminals are used at boh the thermostat and furnace? what wire color to what concluding? also, is it possible to add an auxiliary thermostat to independently run the furnace fan to distribute heat from an installed open-air wood boiler?
If this is a gas heater only, there are no wires for the fan. The fan on a gas furnace is controlled by the temperature inside of the furnace. Since you only have two wires, they go to the red and white terminals. It doesn't substance which ones because polarity is not a concern with this type of setup.
You would deprivation a separate control circuit and thermostat to run the fan for the wood boiler. This would consist of a 24V transformer, a 24V relay alteration and the thermostat.
