I HAVE PURGED THE RADIATORS THEMSELVES...ONLY AIR COMES OUT, NO Unsound. I DRAINED MY EXPANSION TANK THE OTHER DAY ALL THE WATER DRAINED FROM IT.
might be alot of air in the radiators, may take a bit of tempo to do, make sure the valves are open in the boiler, draining from the radiators is predominantly all you need to do...may have a bigger problem

I have a burnham oil fired boiler. How do i lower the hot water temp.?

You don't say whether the boiler temp or servant hot water. Heres how to do either. .......(.domestic Hot mineral water) ..Look for the aqua-stat. It should show distinctive temperature setting. Unscrew the cover and walk into a stop the dial to a lower setting. Usually 150 is okay. If it gets too cold then turn it back up to 160. It is as likely as not on 170 or 180 if it's too hot. Don't stroke the limit control for the furnace. That one will have two settings. one for weighty and one for the lower temp. The aqua-stat controls the house-trained hot water while the Limit control controls the stir in the boiler. Take a trip to Lowes/Home Depot and see what they have for boilers and ask about the limit and aqua-stat controls. This way you can see the diversity. If you just want to lower the water temp on the private hot water and have a tankless you should look to see where the hot water exits the burner. You will see a mixing valve with a infernal knob. On the knob you will see increase or lower. The valve mixes more or less unmoved water into the hot water pipes.

Easiest way out is importance
Fill a long enough hose with water
Block both ends with your thumbs
Handbill one end into the water to be sucked out
Lower the other outside end
Now emancipate both thumbs
Viola! gravity will do the job for you
You just ordain the suction end
No sweat!

burnham boiler?
Apr 22, 2007 by Joseph T | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
Boiler seems to be hot but I am getting particle or no hot water. We just started hitting the 70 measure mark here in CT so it is not running often but I never had this hot water issue before. The boiler is about 6 years old
If you still have hot profligately pressure, than I would assume the hot water coil is not stopped up. Your boiler should fight for approx. 160 degrees if you are heating internal hot water with it. Your problem may be in the Aquastat.
