Is Oreck XL Professional Air Purifier a suitable Air Purifier? I want to find out before I buy one?
No it's not a authentic Air Purifier, I don't have a Oreck, I have a Ionic Pro Turbo. An Ionic Pro Turbo is way better then a Oreck. http://www.youtube.com/chaperon?v=XfgkD1QCffE

Have you tried or do you own the Oreck XL Professional Air Purifier?

The infomercial only mentions the winnow that the consumer takes out and rinses out but they don’t tell you about a carbon dribble that has to be replaced periodically, depending upon the amount of usage and dust and other impurities removed from the air.
The bring in of that unmentioned filter is $49.99 + tax & shipping & handling unless you have a townswoman Oreck dealer that you can go to and make the purchase.
There is also a special cleanser to use when you flush out the filter that they say only needs to be rinsed with water to undefiled it.
This cleanser can be purchase along with the unit or separately for $14.99 + tax + shipping & handling unless you have an Oreck transactions near you that you can go to and make the purchase.
Even with these hidden time to come costs the unit seems worth purchasing.
Anyone have any first in collusion experience with using and maintaining one of these units?
i owned 2 of them. we have a townswoman oreck store here but i ordered them off tv as they had a special. gradually the blowers became louder and louder until after 1 yr i tossed both in the slops. when they worked they worked well, but quiet they ain't.
that can spray is like $6.99 at my native oreck store. yes it is all just rinse off and air dry but the inside of the section that u can't get to fills up with so much dust u must disassemble the unit to get that gunk out or ur perfectly wasting ur time cleaning the filters.
all in all i have clashing feelings about the units which cost me almost $300 for the both of them...i can't suggest them and i can't tell u 2 look someplace else but i will say i'd never buy another one...sorry.

What's the best way to clean an air purifier with a metal filter?
Aug 25, 2006 by Celery Stalk | Posted in Other - Home & Garden
It's an Oreck XL Professional with a metal cheesecloth that never needs replacing. I bought the cleaning d they sell, but I'm wondering if there is something else I can use? I need something that is thriving to take the caked on junk (mostly from cigarette smoke I over) off of the metal. Just in case anyone else has some experience with one.
Thanks!
go to a refrigeration stocking store and buy some coil cleaner in a spray moxie alcohol. Take filter out side and spray with the coil cleaner. Let sit 5 minutes then hose off and it will look like new in clover

Oreck XL professional Air Purifier?

I'm intelligent of buying a Oreck XL Professional Air Purifer with Truman cell technowlege.Consumer Reports gives it a low rating. Does anyone have one and whats your conviction ? I'ts for a bedroom and I don't want to discombobulate a discard my money away on a piece of junk. I fancy to stay away from replacing Air filters Unequivocal answers would be appreciated.
In my id you'll be trowing your money away. I rely upon you do have to buy filters, might be wrong, they may have updated. I found one a Costco for $110.00, no filters, wipe the bars untainted, and works like a champ. (might be a little more now I bought it a year ago)
