My grandmother at best gave me a refurbished Oreck XL...it's working out-and-out but it didn't bring the manual. I heard it's suppossed to be easy as pie to clean...can anyone tell me just how? Thanx.
we have one of these all you have to do is unscrew the front course and take out the filter wash with cold water until out towel dry and re-insert also just wipe off the casing and top with a dry cloth to get rid of dust and hair that settles on top. Worth Luck!

I WOULD Unseat THE FILTER TAP IT AGAINST THE WALL OR FLOOR.IF THAT OPTION DOESN'T Calling YOU MAY PLACE IT UNDER RUNNING WATER.IF YOU PICK THE Blemished OPTION BE SURE IT IS COMPLETELY DRY BEFORE REINSTALLING.OR,YOU MAY USE THE AID OF A Relief HELD
HAIR/BLOW DRYER.If all else go out of business you could always buy another.

please help me choose the best air purifier between oreck XL table top and airfree Onix 3000?
Nov 08, 2008 by bert | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
Im planning to buy air purifier for our leeway, the one thats no need to replace filters issue its too expensive. im choosing between oreck table top and airfree onix 3000, can anybody inform appropriate me choose the best or is there any other purifier thats better that doesnt insufficiency to replace the filter?
Perfectly looked at the specs for the Onix3000 & I in fact do not understand how this thing is capable of doing what it claims.
There is no clarify to trap cigarette smoke particulates, pollen, mold, pet dander or any other archetype of particulate matter.
There are no fans, so how does it effectively move any bulk of air, let alone 5,200 cubic feet of air...that's a room 10 feet roomy & 65 feet long, with an 8 foot ceiling.
If there are no replaceable parts, what develops the sterilizing manners...their 'blue anti-stress light'? I expect not ! ! !
I also looked at the Oreck and it is much better, design wise, than the Onix, however, while it may clear some of the air around it, I do not believe that it can scrub the air (the technology used in submarines) as it is too mundane.
Replacing the standard filter, in your home heating & air system, with a micro particulate dribble will trap more particulates and clean more air at less than 1/12 of the outlay of the Oreck & less than 1/9 the cost of the Onix.
In my opinion, these things may do, initially, what they say they can do, but will NEVER do what YOU Over they will do for you...it is physically impossible given their size & construct.
Actually, I do not believe any of these small, table top of astound units will perform to your expectations.
Just the sentiment of a mechanical engineer.....
Good luck...
