Does anyone have an Oreck Air Purifier, and if you do what do you think? Is it worth it?

Many of those filters are over prices. Don't get me misuse I could not live without one. But this is what I use:
http://www.target.com/Hamilton-Strand-TrueAir-3-Speed-Allergen/dp/B00008R9PG/sr=1-3/qid=1197932050/ref=sr_1_3/602-2267242-8319838?ie=UTF8&ratio=target&field-browse=1038576&arrange=price&rh=k%3Aair%20purifier%2Ctgt%5F3%3AHamilton%20Careen&page=1
The device is cheap and it works uncommonly well. From time to time I forget to turn it on and in the winter I find myself impotent to breath (neighbor smokes.) I turn it on and in about 20 minutes the air becomes unspoilt again.
I usually put in on high for about 1 hour at first - and then put in in mid to low and keep it there.
Good Stroke of luck.

oreck air purifier and tobbaco smoke?
May 08, 2007 by abc_piper | Posted in Cleaning & Laundry
what is the overwhelm way to clean the tar off the metal filter? i tried the oreck publicize and it doesn't work. will using stark green or something similar affect the "ionic" properties the refine claims to possess?
The ionic properties are a sequel of the electric current passing through the plates. Scour them with dish detergent and hot water. Dry them completely before putting them back in. The hot air you're wiping off is what you and your children are breathing into your lungs.

please help me choose the best air purifier between oreck XL table top and airfree Onix 3000?
Nov 08, 2008 by bert | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
Im planning to buy air purifier for our allowance, the one thats no need to replace filters effect its too expensive. im choosing between oreck table top and airfree onix 3000, can anybody assistance me choose the best or is there any other purifier thats better that doesnt essential to replace the filter?
No more than looked at the specs for the Onix3000 & I indeed do not understand how this thing is capable of doing what it claims.
There is no membrane strain to trap cigarette smoke particulates, pollen, mold, pet dander or any other specimen of particulate matter.
There are no fans, so how does it effectively move any loudness of air, let alone 5,200 cubic feet of air...that's a room 10 feet not on target & 65 feet long, with an 8 foot ceiling.
If there are no replaceable parts, what develops the sterilizing motion...their 'blue anti-stress light'? I about not ! ! !
I also looked at the Oreck and it is much better, design wise, than the Onix, however, while it may completely some of the air around it, I do not believe that it can scrub the air (the technology used in submarines) as it is too feel mortified.
Replacing the standard filter, in your home heating & air system, with a micro particulate trickle will trap more particulates and clean more air at less than 1/12 of the charge of the Oreck & less than 1/9 the cost of the Onix.
In my opinion, these things may do, initially, what they say they can do, but will NEVER do what YOU Muse over they will do for you...it is physically impossible given their size & draft.
Actually, I do not believe any of these small, table top of bring down units will perform to your expectations.
Just the theory of a mechanical engineer.....
Good luck...

My grandmother condign gave me a refurbished Oreck XL...it's working tickety-boo but it didn't bring the manual. I heard it's suppossed to be undemanding to clean...can anyone tell me just how? Thanx.
we have one of these all you have to do is unscrew the front lamina and take out the filter wash with cold water until clean-cut towel dry and re-insert also just wipe off the front and top with a dry cloth to get rid of dust and hair that settles on top. Esteemed Luck!

Is Oreck XL Masterful Air Purifier a good Air Purifier? I want to find out before I buy one?
No it's not a proficient Air Purifier, I don't have a Oreck, I have a Ionic Pro Turbo. An Ionic Pro Turbo is way more intelligent then a Oreck. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfgkD1QCffE
