I have a portable amcor air conditioner- no matter what i set the temp for- the compressor goes off at 70-idea
Aug 01, 2007 by Gretchen H | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
that's not lessen enough for us- the compressor isn't supposed to go off until it hits whatever temp you set it for- i set it for 63 but it still turns off at 70 and won't go back on until the extent hits 72- any ideas?
I don't grasp how cool you like it, but 70° is pretty beneficent. It's natural for it to have a bit of a differential.
It could have a low limit setting in the thermostat of 70°. Read the book.
My confusion to you would be this: If you set it at 80°, will it still turn back on at 72°? If it goes up to 80°, then I would say it's a skilful chance that your thermostat has a low limt of 70° in the AC way. You may be able to override it.
It may have a high limit inaction setting of 80° in the heating mode. You have to infer from the manual for the thermostat, but I would say in this kind of weather your air conditioner is working catchy good if it keeps yor house at 70°.
Finally, it could merely be a broken T-Stat. If all else fails just put in place of it.
You could jump the t-stat out. If your house get's below 70° then your AC is rocking and rollin. Straight be careful not to F*** anything up. LOL

And what if I use it in a 150 square feet reside?

How do you install a portable air conditioner in a horizonal-sliding window?
Apr 16, 2008 by JustAQuestion | Posted in Other - Home & Garden
So my two questions are:
1. Portable air conditioners come with an squander hose and window-kit. Will this window kit work with both vertical and horizonal-sliding windows? My window is 42.5 inches absurd therefore the window-kit would have to go up that high.
2. Which portable air conditioner do you recommend for a small to expedient-size bedroom that will work with this window? I have been looking at King Sovereign, Amcor, Soleus Air, DeLonghi, SPT, etc... But I have no face with these. Thanks a lot!
Do portable air conditioners need r22 frigerant after heavy usage? Do they need Maintenance?

I'm looking at Amcor portable a/c and they use r22 frigerant i 'm not assured if that's freon, anyways do need freon added every once in a while?
It is not most of the time due to heavy usage. The refrigerant system is a closed system if you paucity rerigerant it is usually due to non use and seals can dry out causing seepage. But it should not order regular recharging. If that's the case you have a crack.
