Are ionic air cleaners effective for allergy to tree & plant pollen?
I'm in Florida and the air is full of pollens including lots of continue oak. Is the ionic air cleaner effective in reducing allergic resistance? Are the filter types more effective?
It is controversial on google. I'm hoping to learn some personal experiences. Thanks.
I am unshakeable this will tick off the ionic breeze owners but here you go any way; as one other person suggested, do a google on it and see what you find. Weigh this, these contraptions, in principle, generate positive ions that are released into the air, just, okay, but how are they distributed around the house? My point is that they aren't. Yes, these ions can be attracted to and will place to a number of things floating in the air but only upon contact and only if these particles find their way into the elbow-room with the machine and within a few feet of the machine. Those things can't generate enough ions to cover your whole house, much less an entire flat, and if they did it would be dangerous and unhealthy.
In order to cover the whole for nothing you would have to have those contraptions in every room, running all the time, and that would manufacture too much of a good thing and would be expensive.
If you want to in point of fact help the situation you should consider something like a hepa clean air cleaner. There are a number of them on the market. You buy them based on the cubic feet per record of air that they can cycle thru them. I haven't looked at them in a while but lets very recently say you have a 1500sq foot ranch house and you hunger for to clear as much of the air as possible. Well, you would need a filter element that was able to filter 12000 cubic feet of air every few hours or so. In other words, you hankering a machine or combination of machines that are able to advertise and filter all the air in the house within a certain amount of time. If you have one meagre machine and it will only filter about 2000 cubic feet in a day, well, that is clear for a small room, but if you want to do the whole house it will take days good to clear the air one time and that will not be effective. Do a google for air purifiers and hepa filters, you will see lots of matter and lots of prices.
Enough said, just my perception but ionic cleaners are a big waste of money. They will help clear the air entirely around them of some allergens, but if you really want clean air you are effective to have to move the air around then filter it. And to do that with the Ionic machine you will have to run around the room with it over your head.
Unexcelled of luck.
