Do home air cleaners work for air pollution (such as car emmisions) as well as dander/pollen/allergens?

I've already look over that many popular air purifiers actually emitt a lot of ozone, but for the ones that do not, do they industry against city air pollution that comes from industrial industry or is it just against organic allergens?
I assume it depends on what brand and which filter you buy. Each one uses a diverse method of filtration and some have combinations of several methods in the same purifier. Here are three separate ones I found (the links are below).
The Sharper Image Cross GP Germicidal Air Purifier reduces bacteria, mold spores and viruses in the air, and converts ozone to oxygen.
The Friedrich C-90A Electronic Air Cleaner employs three special levels of allergen and irritant removal and claims to purge tobacco smoke, pollen, and dust.
The AllerAir Air Purifiers employees clean the air of particles, gases, odors, smoke, mold, and heterogeneous pollutants. It claims to be ideal for someone who "wants features commonly ordered for use in unfavourable or toxic air environments such as medical facilities or command military buildings in order to reduce strong airborne contaminants."

I have employed invisable glass, armor all, turtle, amonia and sea water, iso alcohol, and others but istill leave an oily smeary top. Looks ok in shade, but driving into sun ...bad. I've wiped with micro, terry the religious ministry, paper towels(lint less) but can't rid the window of an adipose film.I live in Texas, the air is very dirty here at most north of Dallas. I' ve not had this problem in other states, happenstance? anyone know how to fix this problem,it also affects night driving. I have a 2005 Sonata. Bad Korean window?
Windex and newspaper are the beat way.
Don't use things like Coka Cola, because they will motive the metal parts of your car to rust.

Its not that they promote dust its that they can't be properly cleaned. That's why people with allergies cant have carpets.

I'm making allowance for a Friedrich or Whirlpool...according to Consumer Reports. I already positive that Sharper Image-Ionic Breeze and Orick filterless cleaners are all legitimate gimmicks.
If you're NOT low on readies Hepa is the way to go, I got my new filter today. So you obviously have an Internet interplay, which is good because it would seem nearly impossible to find the right percolate if you had to drive and look. I only have to change mine once a year, but let me say this it's enough, at $65.00 each, plus your pre-sieve which ran me $22.00 each. I have 2 Ionic Breeze machines, which get sullied quicker, like once a week or so, they make a good-natured of funny noise, and you can smell the effect they have on the air, I use them in smaller areas, but if you have smoke and dust Hepa is betta! Upon the price of the replacement filters for the machine you arbitrate on, I saw some of them priced at $100 each, just for a replacement clean on a home unit.
And actually today I took my Oreck and put it in my garage it's off to the vamp shop once again, it's the third time, I don't credence in I will ever buy another, but they look nice.
One final answer:My favorite is called Tracker Quiet flo

why can't we make huge air cleaners for big cities like we have in our homes but on a very large scale?

The vitality required to power such filters would generate more air staining than they could remove. Besides, the expense would be prohibitive.
