I am basically taxing to get more power i want to switch my factory closed air cleaner with the hose to an agape air cleaner i was informed that if you put an open air cleaner i will gain from 5 to 7 horsepower, i paucity to know if you can eliminate this sensor without any problems, If required it has a 4.3L V6 With TBI

The IAT or Maf sensor will have a contrary effect if removed .You will be polluting if you do this and have driveability problems.These sensors escape the computer determine the air fuel ratio to get the best combustible mileage.It will not pass a smog test if you do this.
Is this hose exceedingly necessary? I've been trying to look into this for a while now and haven't found any explicit answers... Can I just take that off or replace it with a breather? Any pros/cons from doing that?
Heart my air cleaning housing, after removing the air filter, there was found to be an collection of oil, which looks to have sprayed from somewhere inside the housing. Does anyone have any viewpoint what may have caused this, or how I can begin to detect the source? Acknowledgement you SO MUCH!!!
ETA: Went through all the checks of the PCV valve and hose, and it is in wholesome shape. The next suggestion made to me is that I may have a cracked head. I surface my next step will be to use the high-mileage oil, in addition to a suggested addative, and if that doesn't daily help, I will....be stressed. Thanks so much for all help offered so far!
There is a hose that leads from the machine valve cover to the air cleaner canister. It is usually connected to a Mini baffle or strainer inside the canister. When there is an heap of oil, there are only a couple if reasons for it.
1) The P.C.V. valve is in need of replacement (on the whole in the opposite valve cover or in the crankcase contain below the intake manifold.
2) Engine has high miles, and has extravagant blow-by, a result of engine wear due to deficit of maintenance or caused by abuse.
Start with replacing both the P.C.V. valve and its breather.
If your scarcely car has high miles (> 100K) move to a high-mileage machine oil, preferably a good QUALITY brand, eg. Valvoline, Castrol, NAPA etc.
